Richmond Runfest has confirmed the AIR:10k event will go ahead inside Kew Gardens on May 15.

Having previously been postponed due to Covid-19, it is being planned as a Covid-secure event - following on from the successful 10k run last September.

To aid social distancing, all runners will be given an arrival time to avoid congestion.

AIR stands for Audio Inspired Running and the event is encouraging runners to beat the headphone ban and enjoy running a 10K inside Kew Gardens.

Tom Bedford, race director said: "We’re thrilled that running is back and we look forward to delivering a Covid secure event.

"The 10K, recently the location of the British Olympic Marathon Trials, is pancake flat and a perfect event to welcome runners back.

"Due to Covid restrictions there are no spectators, but your family and friends are invited to meet you after the race and re-enter Kew Gardens with you for free, for a beautiful post-race celebration!"

Entries are now 80 per cent full and are said to be filling up fast.
