Hundreds of meat lovers queued all the way down Teddington’s Broad Street this morning to get into a new restaurant and try to land themselves an offer for free burgers for a year.

Ribs and Burgers opened its doors at 11am and offered a 1 in 100 loyalty card to the first century of customers through the door, meaning they can get a free original burger every week for a year.

One of the lucky 100 was Hannah Barrett, 24, who said: “When I heard there was a chance to win a free burger every week for a year I knew I had to get in that queue and be one of the first 100 to line up. When I was told I was number 93 it was like all my Christmas' had come at once!”

As well as the 1 in 100 offer, customers are also being treated to vouchers and spot prizes throughout the day.

Ribs and Burgers in Teddington is the first UK branch for the chain and serves, as the name suggests, a range of meats including Wagyu burgers and signature sauces and bastings.

The company’s UK managing director George Stathakopoulos said: “We are totally overwhelmed with the response today – it's been fantastic.  We wanted to open our doors in the spirit of abundance by giving away burgers to our first customers and thanking the community for welcoming us into the neighbourhood.

We've been incredibly excited to open our doors today and look forward to treating our local Teddington community, and beyond, to fresh, succulent food and personable service. I'm confident they will enjoy the range of quality dishes on offer."
